Steps to Start
1) Contact me to discuss your particular design needs! We can do this though email, phone, skype or zoom. I will then send you an estimate based on your project needs.
2) Read my process and policies below. Your Paypal payment confirms you read and agree with my policies :)
3) PayPal me a down payment at firstname.lastname@example.org.
1) Do you have a vision, or a concept, or are you starting from scratch?
2) Do you know the aesthetic you want, and can you send me links of samples?
3) Do you have a vision for font and/or colors?
Here is a common example of a logo design process. I spend 2 hours to start. In this time I will 1) Gather visual inspiration to aligning our visions. 2) Create a page of fonts and colors. 3) Send you 2 designs. Based on your feedback, we will move forward, or change direction. Since each project is unique, the process varies.
My client loved my pink dot artwork and suggestion of using her script initials. She sent me a picture of her handwriting and I created a vector image to overlay on my watercolor. Because we were satisfied with both concept and design in the first round, this logo was a total of 2 hours/$100
This design entailed some image research, drawing, painting, photoshop adjusting, font research and designing. This logo was a total of 4 hours/$200
This design was developed over the course of a year! We took our time and put a lot of development into the specifics of type, form, color, and detail. This logo was a total of 12 hours/$600
I alone, proudly run jenbarbato.com. Therefore, I do not guarantee being available to do on the spot changes, as a large design firm may do. Please let me know your specific time needs, so I can plan a way make your project happen for you.
My work days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until 12 noon.
PROGRAMS I USE
I work in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop. I do not use other programs such as Indesign, Quark, Word or Power Point.
I create my type and graphics in Adobe Illustrator, and can convert my files to eps', pdfs, jpgs & pngs for printing and/or web usage. When your logo/design is finalized ~ I will supply you with a file package. Please make sure that your design has your final approval before I make your file package. If you make changes to your design after I create your file package, I will charge for a second creation of the file package. Creating files packages takes .5 hours to 1 hour depending on how many different file versions you need.
I can send you a pdf or jpg file of your project for you to have printed anywhere you like. If you need me to find, price, and/or handle your printing needs, please let me know in advance. I charge my hourly rate of $50 for printing research and management.
Please proof read your copy upon final approval. You are responsible for proof reading errors.
If you need to cancel a job, I charge for the work done up until the date of cancellation.
If you do not think we are good fit, you may request a refund after the first round of designs I send. Once I start on the second round of designs, you may not request a refund, but may cancel the job at that point.
Once when your design is approved, I will invoice you for the remaining hours for the project.
Payment is due upon receipt. I accept payment through PayPal. by check, or cash if you're local.
JOBS ON HOLD
If I don’t hear from you within two weeks of sending you designs, I will consider the job on hold, and invoice you for any remaining hours beyond your down payment.
RIGHTS TO DESIGN WORK
You have the rights to use the designs I created for your business or personal use. I retain the rights to use the design for advertising my services in uses such as my website portfolio, facebook page and pinterest board.
